Why do you sing?

Hello friends! Hope all is well where you are! The weather here cooled down for about 2 days, which was a blessing, and then the heat returned with a vengeance! I hope all of  you in Los Estados are enjoying that cold weather I keep hearing about! I wouldn't mind some of that right now!;) Anyway, begin teaching my classes on February 4, so I have about a week yet to make preparations. In the meantime, I've been making lesson plans, playing with the kids, and helping where I can. Some of my devotional thought from this week: "Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all  your ways acknowledge him, and he will make you paths straight." Proverbs 3:5-6 Am I acknowledging God in all  my ways? Do I keep Him in mind with everything I do? Is He the center of all I do? I should be mindful of Him in everything ! He wants to guide us along the right path for our lives, but we have to let Him do that. We have to choose to do every...

So here goes Day 1

   Hola amigos! So, after the long, tiring hours of traveling we finally arrived at Hogar de Andrea late yesterday afternoon. Surprisingly, my suitcases are already unpacked and my room organized. Those that know me well may need to take a moment to recover from their shock. :P However, I am still awaiting a closet for my clothes which are neatly stacked on a bench in my room at the moment.    We were greeted with muggy, warm weather and the kids gathered outside holding a "Bienvenidos" (Welcome) banner when we arrived, and as usual, they preformed some talents for us (such as singing or playing the recorder). As soon as they finished, I was mobbed with kids wanting a Tootsie Pop (which is Abuelo Gary's traditional treat to bring). The kids and adults were all happy and laughing as they usually are when people from the States arrive.
